Dry January Started in 2013, and has gathered so much traction. Clearly, a large number of people felt that abstaining from alcohol for a month would be a great idea… and it is a great idea! But do you know some of the reasons why everyone should try it?

The side effects of alcohol can vary from person to person, but it’s safe to say that when you have too much alcohol, you don’t feel too great. So making changes to your alcohol consumption brings many positive changes.

These mocktails recipes are great for those who are participating in Dry January. These are drinks that I often order whilst out with my friends. I don’t like alcohol, so I stick to virgin cocktails aka ” Mocktails”. These are my top 4 Mocktails : 

  • Mocktail /Virgin Pina Colada
  • Virgin / Mocktail Cosmo
  • Mocktail / Virgin Mojito
  • Virgin / Mocktail Bloody Mary.

I love the face that all of these mocktails really boost my vitamin C levels. So whilst my friends may be hungover the day after “the night before”, I wake up feeling fresh and full of energy!

Mojito Mocktail Recipe

Firstly, the virgin Mojito is a refreshing drink that is high in vitamin C, and also acts as a palette cleanser between meals.

  • Lime Chopped into 4 pieces.
  • 10 Mint Leaves
  • Club Soda
  • 20ml lemon juice.
  • A little brown sugar.
  • Garnish with a slices of lime.

Secondly, there is the virgin Bloody Mary is basically a red juice! Again, it’s packed full of vitamin C. 

  • Tomato Juice 
  • Worcestershire sauce
  •  Course black pepper
  • Celery Salt 
  • Hot Sauce
  • Celery stick and cherry tomato to garnish

Piña Colada Mocktail Recipe

Thirdly, a virgin Pina Colada is a great drink for those with a sweet tooth. 

  • Frozen pinapple pieces
  • Coconut Milk
  • Pineapple juice
  • Place all 3 ingredients in a blender and pulse until smooth.
  • Garnish with a pineapple slice and maraschino cherry.

Lastly, the Cosmopolitan is one of the most popular cocktails, so of course, the virgin version will also be popular!

  • Cranberry Juice
  • Lime juice
  • Orange zest
